How to grow Stephanotis:
From a seed:
Plant the seeds 1/2" deep into loam or a good potting soil mixture (like you'll find in garden shops). Keep the soil evenly moist but not constantly wet. Once the seeds have sprouted, keep it in bright light.
From a seedling:
Keep your stephanotis seedling in an area with a lot of light and where the temperature is between 65℉ to 85℉. Use a general garden fertilizer (according to the instructions). Keep in mind that the stephanotis is actually a vine, so as it grows, give it something to attach to.
Aloha!
I am the stephanotis. White waxy trumpets about two inches long with a delicately pleasant fragrance is my distinction. Although I'm a native of Madagascar, my fragrance captivated the native Hawaiians and they adopted me very quickly as a lei flower and especially as a wedding bouquet flower. That's why my Hawaiian name is Pua Male or "marry flower". I am a woody vine and my leaves are thick and glossy, but it is my fragrance that is treasured.
