How to grow a Cattleya orchid:

Use a well-drained potting mixture of tree bark, tree fern and perlite. Cattleya's love the sun, so a western or southern exposure is needed. The ideal temperatures should be 60℉ at night and 85℉ during the day.  Humidity should range between 30% to 40%. Success with a cattleya depends largely upon watering practices.  Give your plant a complete soaking followed by drying. And use a liquid fertilizer twice a month during spring and summer and once a month in fall.

Important: Do not fertilize your cattleya in the winter.
